Inspired by vertical farming, Max Lössl and Philipp Wagner founded Agrilution in 2013. Their vision: to harvest fresh lettuce, herbs, and microgreens in their own kitchens – without pesticides and long transport routes. Instead, they're packed with nutrients and vitamins, as close to the point of consumption as possible, and therefore as fresh as possible.
The now international 30-person team of product designers, plant scientists, technicians, and sales representatives developed the first personal vertical farming ecosystem for private kitchens and restaurants. Design played a key role throughout. The plants are the focus. No frills. Clean lines, high-quality materials, and a commitment to emphasizing the plants' aesthetics.
Thanks to the Plantcube, many people in cities can now grow greens with incredible taste, texture, and nutritional content in their own homes. Automatic irrigation, climate and light control, easy planting with pre-made seed mats, and app-based control ensure ease of use. But the journey continues in our minds. What if, in a few years, we could harvest at home what our bodies actually need to be healthy and stay healthy for as long as possible, based on our personal needs?
