We are facing one of the greatest challenges of our time: The demand for renewable energy is increasing, while at the same time, our agricultural production must be secured. In Germany, 86% of food comes from domestic production. But both renewable energy and agriculture require land – and this is precisely where Feldwerke comes in with its Agri-PV concept.
To achieve this, we work with farmers who care about sustainability – and who are economically minded and interested in an additional, stable source of income.
They are open to innovative technologies that do not interfere with their agricultural activities but, on the contrary, complement them.
But why agri-PV? Agri-PV is diverse. There are, for example, fixed systems that install solar panels on fixed structures, such as the high-altitude systems above the apple orchards on Lake Constance. Or there are mobile systems like our single-axis trackers – they move with the sun and capture solar energy throughout the day, maximizing energy yield by 20 percent compared to fixed systems. And the best part: Our systems only require 10 percent of the area. This means that the remaining land can be used for normal farming.
And everyone involved benefits! We offer farmers and landowners a secure source of income. They can continue to use their land for agricultural purposes and also benefit from rent and energy yields. This creates financial security, especially in times of crop failure or fluctuating prices. Our concept also ensures greater acceptance, as it neither seals the soil nor significantly impacts the landscape.
In short: At Feldwerke, we combine agricultural use with green energy generation, thus offering the perfect solution for the future of our land – for sustainable agriculture and a successful energy transition!
