At “Startup meets craft” 2025 in Munich, founders and craftspeople came together to discuss future technologies. The event showed: innovation and craftsmanship go hand in hand – and together drive progress forward.

Since 2018, “Space meets Handwerk” has been bringing together high-tech startups and Upper Bavarian craft businesses. This year, the successful event format entered its sixth round and provided space for new collaborations between aerospace and craftsmanship.

Full house last Thursday evening at Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern at “Startup meets Craft”. Since 2016, startups and innovative craftspeople have met here – except for a brief Corona interruption – and pitched their future technologies and innovative business models to the audience. That the event, which is jointly organized by HWK Munich and Munich Startup, fills an important gap in both worlds is shown by the strong demand: Just a few days before the event, no more registrations could be accepted due to capacity constraints.

On October 24, “Startup meets Crafts” returns. The successful format from Munich Startup and the Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern (HWK Munich) once again brings together the worlds of crafts and innovative startups, showing that both sides have more in common than meets the eye. Registration for the free event is now possible.

High-tech startups meet high-tech craft businesses – at ‘Space meets Handwerk’, a special format of the Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern, AZO Space of Innovation, and ESA BIC Bavaria. Last week it was time again to search for nothing less than the perfect match.
