Defencetech startup Arx Robotics has raised an additional eleven million euros in capital. The expansion of the Series A funding round is led by early-stage investor Speedinvest. HV Capital is participating again. Back in April, Arx announced a 31-million-euro round – led by HV Capital with participation from Omnes Capital, the NATO Innovation Fund, and Project A.
Focus on scaling and new facilities
With the additional capital, Arx Robotics is pursuing a clear strategy. The establishment of additional European manufacturing sites will enable fast, cost-efficient production of autonomous, unmanned combat vehicles. The focus is on software-driven systems with high integration capability.
The company is relying on its modular UGV platform and the AI-based operating system Mithra OS. The goal is to digitalize and network heavy combat vehicles in European land forces. Partnerships with companies such as Daimler and Renk are intended to accelerate industrial scaling.
“With the expansion of our Series A, we are strategically accelerating the scaling of existing structures and the establishment of new manufacturing sites in Europe – from modular software architecture through series production to building an excellent, interdisciplinary team. In a geopolitical environment of growing uncertainty, speed, scalability, and capacity for action at the right time are of central importance. Arx stands for a software-defined defense developed in Europe – agile, scalable, and technologically sovereign”,
says Marc Wietfeld, founder and CEO of Arx Robotics.
Positioning in the security-critical sector
Arx Robotics was founded in Munich in 2022. The founders are former officers of the Bundeswehr. Their mission: developing intelligent, autonomous ground systems for modern military applications. Arx systems are already in use in several European armies, including in Ukraine.
“Europe needs a re-industrialization – driven by an innovation-driven, scalable military-industrial complex. Arx Robotics is strategically positioned to significantly strengthen Europe’s defense capabilities and technological sovereignty through software-defined, unmanned systems and autonomous vehicles based on European technology. In this field of tension between security-critical infrastructure, technological innovation, and geopolitical reality, the key companies of the next decade are emerging – Arx is exemplary in this regard”,
explains Andreas Schwarzenbrunner, General Partner at Speedinvest.
A particular focus is now on personnel expansion – especially through experts in AI, software architecture, systems integration, as well as specialists from the European automotive industry.
