Qualiwise’s focus is on the complete digitization of quality inspection – a task that presents a major challenge for manufacturing companies, particularly in plant engineering. The industry depends on suppliers, sourcing up to 90 percent of its parts from external providers. This means delayed deliveries, faulty components, or lack of quality transparency cause major operational problems. Qualiwise addresses this exact challenge and aims to replace the often still paper-based procedures in quality inspection with its software.
The “Smart Inspection” solution digitizes the entire quality inspection process from planning through execution to follow-up control. Among other things, inspection plans are automatically created from technical PDF drawings using artificial intelligence. Particularly critical inspection features can be supplemented with image and video documentation. The solution guides employees through the inspection process, while a mobile app captures, verifies, and compares measurement values with specifications in real time. All of this is intended to significantly accelerate the inspection process, enable early detection of quality problems, and reduce physical goods receipt inspections.
Qualiwise thanks Baystartup
Qualiwise has now secured pre-seed funding from Baystartup’s investor network. The six-figure sum comes from venture capital firm 123 Ventures. The Munich-based startup plans to use it to further develop its solution and strengthen its market presence. Ulrich Kaiser, co-founder and CEO of Qualiwise, explains:
“Baystartup has provided crucial support throughout all phases. From our first contact with our investor to the award at the Munich Business Plan Competition, which led us to further customer contracts. The capital now enables us to continue pursuing our vision, win more customers, continuously develop our solution, and strengthen our market presence.”
123 Ventures states through a spokesperson:
“The solution significantly accelerates the inspection process, helps detect quality problems early, reduces physical goods receipt inspections by up to 70 percent, and substantially lowers travel costs. Unlike previous tools that often only cover partial areas, ‘Smart Inspection’ offers a comprehensive and highly automated solution tailored to the requirements of manufacturing teams.”
