Forschungspraxis Embedded Software Engineering (m/f/d)

Company Description

Technology pushes humanity forward, but innovating hardware is still slow and expensive. Startups and enterprises struggle to build the hardware they need, which holds back innovation. The majority of the cost comes from embedded software development - long iteration cycles, hardware dependencies, scattered information, and outdated systems all add up.

amilo is changing that by creating digital twins of embedded hardware, making software development faster and more efficient. We simulate microprocessors and peripherals and provide a suite of tools to support developers.

Role Description

We’re looking for a Forschungspraxis student to join amilo. This is an opportunity to have a huge impact in the early days of a venture capital backed company and co-develop a scalable hardware emulation infrastructure that redefines the development experience for engineers worldwide.

Your tasks

You will work directly with the founding team of amilo, a venture capital backed StartUp. You will help to develop the product and ship it to customers, integrate customer feedback and bring in your own ideas. Your main task will be developing software in, among others, Python, C, C++.

Qualifications

We’re looking for an intern with strong technical expertise.

  • Currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong background in software development and technology architecture.
  • Experience in one or more of those areas: embedded software engineering, software testing, hardware emulation platforms (QEMU, Renode, or similar).
  • Please be aware that this position is on-side in Munich, Germany.

Embedded software development is still a manual process, from coding to testing. We’re changing that by simulating your embedded hardware, integrating it with your CI/CD pipeline, and providing deeper insights than traditional hardware testing.
