Not even a year after his Series A Planet A Foods announces the completion of its Series B financing round of €28 million ($30 million). The financing round was led by Burda Principal Investments and Zintinus. Other investors included World Fund, Bayern Kapital, Cherry Ventures, Tengelmann Ventures, AgriFoodTech Venture Alliance, and Omnes Capital. The company intends to use the fresh funds to Pursue to accelerate international expansion and scale production capacities nationally and internationally.
Founded in 2021 by siblings Sara and Maximilian Marquart, Planet A Foods develops with the help of innovative preparation processes Sustainable, future-proof food ingredients. The startup's portfolio includes Choviva, the world's first cocoa-free chocolate alternative made from sunflower seeds. According to the company, this innovation reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 80 percent compared to conventional chocolate production.
