Fine wines and expensive whiskies are becoming increasingly popular as an investment form – and Spiritory is developing a live trading platform for this purpose. The Munich-based startup has now convinced investors and raised a six-figure sum.

Spiritory is a stock exchange-based live trading platform for rare spirits. Trading on the platform works as follows: buyers place bids and sellers make offers. Once both prices match, a transaction occurs. For users, the entire process should be as simple, transparent, and secure as possible. To achieve this, the platform forgoes elaborate photos and comprehensive descriptions; instead, each bottle traded is reviewed by an expert team. Additionally, it offers numerous indicators as well as sales histories and data points to facilitate buying or selling decisions.

The capital now raised is to be invested in additional features, a redesigned interface, and improved user-friendliness. Furthermore, Spiritory wants to expand into additional EU countries; the Munich-based company has France, Italy, Spain, Benelux, Poland, and Austria in its sights. And the startup will also soon introduce an app that brings all the platform’s features to smartphones.

The community has been waiting for “an offering like Spiritory”

“We are delighted that we have already welcomed so many whisky enthusiasts, collectors, and investors to our platform in recent months”,

says Janis Wilczura, CEO and co-founder of Spiritory, and adds:

“The feedback we have received has simply been amazing. This shows how many people in the community, as well as people who want to invest in whisky and wine, have long been waiting for an offering like Spiritory.”

Spiritory was founded in 2022 by Janis Wilczura, Tilo Saurin, and Jan Hofmayer. The startup has not disclosed the exact amount of the six-figure funding round or the investors behind it.
