The 50 most innovative companies in the world: AMSilk is among them

Startups from Germany are among the most innovative companies in the world. This is at least according to a top list published by the trade magazine "Technology Review." AMSilk, a Munich-based company, is also represented.

Technological turning points sought

The "Technology Review" has compiled a list of the world's top 50 companies: the most innovative companies will be honored in Berlin at the beginning of September, presumably by Federal Minister of Economics Brigitte Zypries. But it's not just US tech giants or long-established German heavyweights that are among the most significant innovators. Startups, in particular, are distinguishing themselves through their innovative strength and vision to change the world.

The amount of research expenditure, stock prices, patents, or similar factors were not among the decisive criteria in selecting the companies to be honored. The magazine's approach was different. “Technology Review” Editor-in-Chief Robert Thielicke:

“We are looking for technological turning points that force us to rethink.”

Adidas partner AMSilk also involved

The fact that the local startup landscape extends across Germany is also reflected in the selection of German young companies that made it into the TOP 50. In addition to Velocopter (Bruchsal), Holoplot (Berlin), Cyberdyne (Bochum), and Sunfire (Dresden), a Munich-based company also boasts a place in the top list: AMSilk develops synthetic silk and, at the end of last year, landed an extremely strong partner in Adidas.
