Der Elektro-Flugtaxi-Hersteller Lilium verstärkt seinen Aufsichtsrat mit Ex-Airbus-Chef Tom Enders. Auf dem Lilium-Blog schreibt Tom Enders, dass er bei der Anfrage vom Lilium-CEO Daniel Wiegand nicht lange überlegen musste. Er meint weiter:
„Perhaps the thing that has impressed me most about Lilium was that they started with a strong business case and focused from the start on intercity shuttle flights, which allow for higher passenger load factors. I believe with this Lilium is solving the problem of notoriously low load-factors in on-demand air-taxi businesses of the past. It will also help to get ticket prices down and truly democratize electric flight, following Lilium’s mission.“
Das Münchner Startup entwickelt ein Elektro-Flugtaxi, das senkrecht startet und landet. Im März 2020 erhielt Lilium ein Mega-Investment in Höhe von 240 Millionen Dollar. Dieser von dem chinesischen Internetkonzern Tencent angeführten Runde schloss sich im Juni das schottische Investment-Management-Unternehmen Baillie Gifford mit 35 Millionen Dollar an. 2025 soll die Serienproduktion und der Betrieb regionaler Flugdienste starten. Enders ist vom Erfolg überzeugt:
