Start?Zuschuss! announces winners and launches new competition round

With the Start?Zuschuss! funding program, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs supports technology-oriented startups from across Bavaria. A total of 36 startups were selected for the current competition phase – 19 of which come from the Munich ecosystem.

Start?Zuschuss! is aimed at technology-oriented startups in the field of digitalization that were founded no more than two years ago. The goal of the funding program is to help young and innovative companies from Bavaria establish themselves in the market. The winners receive a financial grant of up to €36,000 to cover their start-up costs. 127 startups submitted their proposals to the current competition round.

Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger congratulates the winners:

"We have supported more startups in this competition than ever before. The large number of applications is a strong sign of Bavaria's entrepreneurial spirit. I wish the young entrepreneurs much success in implementing their ideas. Bavaria's economy needs you."

The Munich winners of the Start?Zuschuss! funding program

A total of 19 of the 36 startups selected in this round come from the Munich ecosystem. Most, but not all, are based directly in the city. The Munich award winners are:

  • Angsa Robotics: The startup, headquartered in Gilching, is developing a robot that can independently clear green and gravel areas of garbage
  • Characteristics Matter operates a platform for crypto enthusiasts
  • Curevision aims to offer doctors and researchers the opportunity to present wounds in three dimensions and thus in a uniform manner through a new approach to wound documentation.
  • Deepeye Medical: The Munich-based company is working on an ophthalmological decision support algorithm for individual diagnosis and therapy planning
  • Elixion Medical has developed an intelligent drainage system for medicine
  • Exonode wants to get the returns problem in e-commerce under control with the help of AI
  • Greco & Hoppe & Rudat: With its platform Lancia bring Munich customers and videographers together
  • Hey Circle offers sustainable reusable shipping packaging
  • Heynannyly: The startup based in Unterföhring helps parents find the right childcare
  • Informme digitizes the entire patient communication – from information to the transmission of findings
  • Ipipapa: The Grünwalders translate music into phonetic transcription, so that choirs, for example, can sing correctly even in languages they do not speak.
  • Lesido gives grandparents the opportunity to read to their grandchildren even from a distance
  • Numi Solutions has developed software to optimize supply chain logistics
  • Oonique provides hobby knitters with everything they need for their next project
  • Phio Scientific combines compact microscopy with artificial intelligence
  • Raya Diagnostics: Gauting offers radiological telediagnostics with AI support
  • Rekrutados wants to reduce the hurdles in recruiting foreign specialists
  • Tezor Germany is a B2B fashion marketplace for household goods and home textiles
  • Treesense offers predictive maintenance for urban trees

Applications for the next round started

From 6 May 2022, founders from Bavaria will again have the chance to to apply for the funding program, then the 14th competition begins. Any startup headquartered in Bavaria that is active in the field of digitalization and was founded no more than two years ago is eligible to participate in Start?Zuschuss!
