Apinity is a former division of the Allianz incubator Syncier, which was previously active on the market under the name Syncier Marketplace. Startup combines a software platform and a marketplace for insurance-specific API services. Managing Director Anna-Carina Häusler explained:
"Our customers and partners had often invested a lot of money and time in their cloud and API management projects, but were still far from using their APIs efficiently in their daily business operations with customers and partners. We want to support customers where they can benefit most from APIs: in the business operations area as a holistic platform."
Apinity aims to “integrate other industries into the insurance industry’s API ecosystem”
With the takeover by Munich Re, the startup will now further expand its own development, strengthen access for additional customers and pool expertise. Torsten Jeworrek, Member of the Board of Management of Munich Re, explains:
“Apinity is an insurtech that covers industry-specific services and has the potential to integrate other industries into the insurance industry’s API ecosystem.”
With its SaaS platform for API Business Operations Apinity aims to enable companies to maximize the business value of their APIs and incorporate them into their future API strategy. To this end, the solution enables them to launch their own API business and offer a customized marketplace to internal and external users. This simplifies API management and aligns it with the specific needs of the business. It also aims to unlock new business opportunities while reducing costs through API reuse.
