All3DP operates an online magazine of the same name for 3D printing and the marketplace offering Craftcloud, where customers can upload the digital model of their component and then receive real-time quotes. The approximately 180 connected print service providers were previously validated by Craftcloud. In addition to costs, all providers are listed for customers with their name, company location, and available processes. With just a few clicks, customers can order the required quantities from their preferred provider via the Craftcloud platform.

More transparency, less volatile prices

Mikkel Kring, Chief Product Officer of Craftcloud, explains:

“We operate in a horizontal market where companies of all sizes and sectors order the parts they need through us. From research laboratories to automotive suppliers. For orders that don’t require further consultation, the individual exchange of quotes is no longer contemporary. The technology is mature, the print service providers are reliable, but prices remain volatile. Craftcloud offers customers full transparency and businesses visibility. Both sides save time and money.”

The online marketplace for 3D printing is the company’s core offering and is available worldwide. On the All3DP.com online magazine, users can find application-oriented tests and expert articles as well as further news from the 3D printing industry. According to the company, the magazine records 1.5 million visits per month.

In autumn 2020, the Munich startup was already able to complete a funding round of two million euros, and now All3DP can announce another successful round. The growth funding is led by HZG Group, which joins the circle of existing investors as a new shareholder alongside High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Bayern Kapital, and Deutsche Balaton AG. The size of the funding round was not disclosed. The freshly raised funds are primarily intended to accelerate international growth of the Craftcloud marketplace solution.

All3DP: growth through efficient marketing

All3DP managing director Mathias Plica says:

“We operate on a break-even basis and have seen Craftcloud grow by over 60 percent per year in recent years. With the new financing, we can take advantage of the very favorable market environment for our marketplace platform and create additional growth through efficient marketing. With HZG Group, we have found an investor who has complete insight into the key technologies of digital manufacturing and brings proven expertise in managing extraordinary growth phases.”

For the 3D printing-specialized VC HZG Group, this is the first investment in a startup with a digital marketplace. Kerstin Herzog, managing partner of HZG Group, explains:

“Platform economics is also an effective lever in the 3D printing market. The industry benefits from efficient and transparent processes and can also tap into new customer segments. Craftcloud has the best prerequisites to continue playing an internationally leading role among online marketplaces and to continue its impressive growth story in the coming years.”

And Axel Nitsch, Principal at HTGF, comments:

“The successfully completed funding round is the wonderful result of the outstanding work of Mathias Plica and his team in recent years. We are particularly pleased to have HZG Group on board as a new shareholder and absolute industry expert in 3D printing. Together in the shareholders’ circle, we will continue to actively support the exciting growth story of All3DP GmbH.”
