Munich-based startup Allo is expanding its digital restaurant platform with a financing partner. Together with Berlin-based fintech Finmid, Allo now provides customized financing solutions directly through its platform. This is intended to give small and medium-sized catering businesses across Germany fast and unbureaucratic access to capital.

Partnership with impact

More than 1,000 restaurants already working with Allo – including numerous establishments in Munich such as LeDu, Slurp, Napoli Group, and Giesinger Stehausschank – can now apply for financing. The process is handled entirely digitally through Finmid’s API, based on current business data. If an application is approved, restaurant operators typically receive the funds within 48 hours.

“Our customers increasingly need fast, flexible, and personalized access to financing. Thanks to our partnership with Finmid, we can now deliver this directly. It’s the natural evolution of our mission to be the platform restaurants can rely on at every stage of their journey,”

explains Cancan Liu, CEO of Allo.

The funds can be used flexibly – for example, for renovating premises, new equipment, or investments in staff and marketing. According to Finmid, financed merchants see an average revenue increase of up to 45 percent within the first six months.

Allo’s customers with a migration background should benefit particularly. According to Allo, they often have worse access to traditional financing, as conventional credit models are not designed for their business reality.

“Allo has built close, trusted relationships with restaurants – initially in Munich, now throughout Germany. We are proud to support them with the infrastructure to expand their all-in-one solution with fast, flexible financing – directly embedded in the tools their customers already use. This partnership is still in its early stages, and we look forward to growing together,”

says Max Schertel, co-founder of Finmid.

Allo was founded in 2021 by Cancan Liu, Benedikt von Lewinski, and Teodor Rupi. The platform offers a digital end-to-end operating system for restaurants, covering features such as reservations, orders, payments, and delivery integrations. The startup receives support from investors including 20VC, former Stripe COO Claire Hughes Johnson, and World Cup winner Mario Götze. After strong growth, Allo is now planning expansion into additional European markets.
