Blickfeld is entering a new chapter: The LiDAR specialist and Canadian Senstar Technologies Corporation have signed a binding agreement under which Blickfeld becomes part of Senstar. The companies plan to close the transaction in the first quarter of 2026, subject to required regulatory approvals. The two have been working together for nearly two years.

Blickfeld was founded in 2017 by Mathias Müller, Rolf Wojtech, and Florian Petit in Munich. The company develops high-precision 3D LiDAR sensors with integrated software. These generate precise three-dimensional information about the shape and surface properties of surrounding objects for applications in security, industry, and transportation. With the 3D security LiDAR QbProtect, Blickfeld positioned itself early in the security market. Additionally, the startup holds numerous semiconductor and technology patents.

Strategic expansion in the security market

For Senstar, the acquisition represents a targeted expansion of its portfolio. The international security solutions provider wants to complement its AI-powered multisensor solutions with Blickfeld’s technology in particular. The combination is intended to accelerate market penetration in the security segment. At the same time, new applications are opening up in industry, transportation, and automation.

Despite the acquisition, both companies remain largely independent. Blickfeld and its subsidiary Blickfeld North America will continue under their current names as Senstar subsidiaries. Mathias Müller will continue to lead the company as CEO and manage his existing team.

Senstar CEO Fabien Haubert comments:

“By joining forces with the talented Blickfeld team, we are strengthening our competitive position to better penetrate major growth industries and verticals. The combination of Blickfeld’s proven semiconductor-based LiDAR solutions with our portfolio expands our addressable market, enhances our portfolio in terms of situational awareness, and opens new perspectives in transportation and industry. Blickfeld’s real-time 3D monitoring significantly expands our intelligence capabilities and gives us the opportunity to offer our customers a more comprehensive solution package together. We welcome Blickfeld to the Senstar team and are very pleased about this valuable contribution to our sustainable growth trajectory.”

Blickfeld CEO Mathias Müller also emphasizes the significance of this step:

“After many years of trustworthy and successful collaboration with Senstar, we are excited to take the next step. We are proud to become part of Senstar and together develop innovative applications as well as optimize our customers’ security concepts worldwide using our LiDAR technology.”
