Munich Startup: What does your startup do? What problem do you solve?

Our interview partner and Brave Care founder Beatriz Fitzner (Photo: Brave Care)

Beatriz Fitzner, Brave Care: Brave Care is a platform for period health and has been selling its first product since May 2023 – a period cream for period pain. We offer health-conscious women an effective and side-effect-free care product for a comfortable period.  Period pain affects 9 out of 10 women every month.

Munich Startup: But that already exists!

Beatriz Fitzner: Nope, not without phytohormones or THC.

In search of a side-effect-free alternative

Munich Startup: What’s your founding story?

Beatriz Fitzner: Stopped taking the pill, got period pain. While searching for everyday-compatible and side-effect-free alternatives to ibuprofen and herbal teas, I studied naturopathy and made my own period cream in my kitchen. It worked – for me and my friends too – and that’s how Brave Care came about.

Munich Startup: What have been your biggest challenges so far?

Beatriz Fitzner: Product approval, balancing work and family life.

Munich Startup: Where do you want to be in one year, and where in five years?

Beatriz Fitzner: In one year: offer more products for period health in the shop, have built a solid community, and advanced education about period health. And found a co-founder! Feel free to email beatriz@brave-care.com.

In five years: first medical device.

More fempreneur energy for Munich

Munich Startup: How have you experienced Munich as a startup hub so far?

Beatriz Fitzner: When it comes to the femhealth bubble, very poor. That’s why we want to launch events in this area ourselves, because capital and media presence are very strong in Munich and the topic is super relevant. Otherwise, we like Munich because the events are well organized, LMU and TU are strong engines and open to dialogue. But we need more fempreneur energy in Munich!

Munich Startup: Risk or security?

Beatriz Fitzner: Risk.
