The 3DExperience Lab offers various services to startups and young companies. These include Fab, Immersive, Virtual Twin, Ideation, and Data Labs. As part of a two-year program, founders also gain access to Dassault Systèmes’ 3DExperience platform and their cloud-based software solutions. The platform comprises various software solutions such as the 3D CAD program Solidworks. It covers the entire product lifecycle from design through engineering and manufacturing to go-to-market. The platform enables those responsible for individual areas to always work with the same data sets. This data continuity is intended to enable integrated, collaborative work that gives startups a high degree of scalability in the long term. For founders, this provides the technical possibilities in the early, critical phase to quickly build professional software structures, drive product development, and grow as a company.
Beyond that, the 3DExperience Lab offers mentoring and coaching through Dassault Systèmes’ global technology and business network and supports inventors in business-relevant areas such as sales or marketing. Young entrepreneurs are also supported through an incubator partner network in Germany. This includes the Deutsche Messe Technology Academy, ESA BIC Bavaria, Sustainable Aero Lab, and TUM Venture Labs.
The 3DExperience Lab in Munich is the world’s fourth startup hub of this kind from Dassault Systèmes. The first lab was opened at the company’s headquarters in Paris in 2015, followed by Boston and Pune, India. At the official opening last Tuesday, several startups – including Sewts, The Exploration Company, and Servail from Munich – demonstrated how they are using Dassault’s support. And Corinne Pereira da Silva, the Consul General of the French Republic for Bavaria, praised the Bavarian-French collaboration for innovation.
“Further promoting young inventors and giving them a home”
Frédéric Vacher, Head of Innovation at Dassault Systèmes, explains:
“In recent years, the startup scene in Germany has developed rapidly and a multitude of promising ideas has emerged. With our 3DExperience Lab in Munich, we want to continue promoting young inventors and give them a home. As a society, we currently face enormous challenges such as climate change, the development of new energy sources, and the sustainable use of resources. To overcome these, we need to think outside the box and take new paths.”
Dominic Kurtaz, Managing Director Eurocentral at Dassault Systèmes, says:
“The 3DExperience Lab will be an accelerator for innovation in our region. With the opening of the 3DExperience Lab in Munich and a strong network of incubator partners in the region, we are giving young entrepreneurs everything they need to bring their sustainable ideas to life – and change society for the better.”
And Fabien Bartel, Director 3DExperience Lab Munich, adds:
“The startup scene in Munich offers enormous potential. Many young developers are working on topics and ideas that will significantly influence the way we live and work in the future – they are boldly and actively meeting the great challenges of our time. We want to support this pioneering spirit from the very first step and are looking forward to collaborating with TUM Venture Labs in our partner network, alongside building our own initiative to promote sustainable innovation.”
