Ecoplanet, founded in 2022 by Maximilian Dekorsy and Henry Keppler, raised €3.5 million in its latest funding round. The Munich-based startup enables its corporate customers to optimize their electricity consumption. Given fluctuating electricity prices, consumption is concentrated during times of low prices. The Ecoplanet platform uses analytical methods and artificial intelligence to make companies pioneers of the energy transition and support them in implementing sustainable energy management strategies.

HV Capital leads the round

In a seed round in April 2023, Ecoplanet already secured €2.6 million. HV Capital led the financing of the B2B energy platform, with several angel investors participating, including former Siemens supervisory board chairman Gerhard Cromme and the Flixbus founders. And HV Capital is also leading the current round. The fresh capital will help further strengthen Ecoplanet’s position as a pioneer in developing innovative software for intelligent energy management.

Since HV Capital’s initial investment in March 2023, the Munich-based startup has expanded its customer base to over 800 locations with total energy consumption of over 500 GWh per year, according to its own statements. This includes Alloheim Seniorenresidenzen SE. Its CFO Christoph Mosler comments:

“The Ecoplanet service delivers on its promise. In recent months, the cockpit has given us significantly more transparency, and based on this we’ve managed to noticeably reduce consumption. Through energy procurement with Ecoplanet, we’ve secured attractive prices for several years ahead.”

The Ecoplanet cockpit is designed to provide detailed visualization and analysis of all energy data to enable informed and automated action recommendations for each individual case.

According to its own statements, Ecoplanet currently employs 27 staff members and maintains offices in Munich and Berlin.
