Since its founding in 2013, Munich-based Hologate has equipped over 450 venues in 42 countries with its XR technology, according to the company. Over 18 million players have since used the startup’s immersive entertainment products. These include XR versions of mini golf and escape rooms as well as various simulators and computer games, some based on well-known brands like Ghostbusters. Additionally, since 2020, Hologate has offered HGXR, a solution for companies that allows training scenarios to be simulated, such as for police or military.
Hologate has now successfully completed its series A financing round and raised €8.3 million. Bolero Holdings and Vester Partners, both new investors in the startup, are leading the round. Existing investors such as Cherry Ventures are also participating again. The fresh capital will primarily flow into further growth, product development, and new employees. The company also wants to increasingly rely on AI to enable realistic and authentic interaction with virtual people.

This investment will lead us to ambitious goals in this era of spatial computing, play an important role in our strategic hiring plans, open up new markets, innovate with new products, and ultimately accelerate our growth. My thanks go to our investors and also to the extraordinary and committed Hologate team that made this possible.”
