AI+Munich aims to increase the density of innovations based on artificial intelligence in southern Germany. To this end, the initiative supports AI startups with various measures. Prototype funding is designed to make prototyping easier and more affordable for teams in both early and late stages. It is aimed at startups that have not yet received financial support from venture capital or a business angel.
The program offers three financing options with a total volume of up to 25,000 euros. The AI Scholarship is intended to help cover living expenses, the Prototyping Grant is designed to accelerate the development and testing of AI prototypes, and the Expert Pool & Funding consolidates support through expert knowledge.
Application for prototype funding until June 25
To qualify for funding, a startup must use AI and demonstrate AI expertise in its core team. Additionally, projects must address at least one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A diverse team and successful participation in AI competitions are also advantageous. Furthermore, it is required to have identified a clear problem, validated it with a potential customer, and developed an appropriate solution. Startups that have already received financial support from venture capital or a business angel cannot apply. Companies with more than 10 employees and stock corporations are also excluded from the competition.
After the application phase closes, selected startups will have the opportunity to pitch to experts on July 25. Startups that do not advance to the pitch can schedule a feedback interview with the AI+Munich team.
