Munich Startup: What problem do you offer a solution for?
Gaitis Kasims, Founder & CEO: On the workshop floor, the trades have long been modern: CNC, laser, CAD. Then in the office, it’s Excel. Paper eats up the day: sorting inquiries, writing quotes, scheduling appointments, documenting construction sites, issuing invoices. Project knowledge is scattered across emails, documents, and calendar entries, and for every new problem, yet another app is added.
Krafthub is the platform on which a business runs its entire day: from the initial inquiry through the project and quote to the invoice. The difference is that with us, AI is the interface itself rather than an add-on. You talk to the system, take a photo of a construction site, or forward an email. From that, it generates appointments, tasks, documentation, and quotes.
And it scales. Cost estimation for an industrial business easily involves several thousand line items, and a reliable price is often only available after weeks of supplier feedback. Our AI recognizes the items and prices a large portion of them on the day of receipt using wholesale data, payroll records, and its own historical data. The same system, whether for a one-person business or a corporate group, integrates into ERP, CRM, and materials management. Crafts AI. Industrialized.
A Solution for Businesses of All Sizes
Munich Startup: What can only you do as of today?
Gaitis Kasims: Most have to choose: either a product for small businesses or project business for large ones. We don’t have to. The small business gets an out-of-the-box platform they can work with right away. The corporate group gets the same AI, but deeply integrated into their world: ERP, CRM, materials management, wholesale data, proprietary processes.
That’s down to the architecture: Our AI isn’t a chat window on the side, but deeply anchored as an engine within the product. It can do anything in it that an employee can do. And it’s down to the team: We combine master craftspeople who know everyday business operations with people who have built AI automation at scale in regulated industries. That combination is rare. On top of that: We are bootstrapped. We build what businesses need, not what an investor wants to see next quarter.
Munich Startup: What triggered the founding?
Gaitis Kasims: Working in a corporate environment, I saw how far automation with AI can really go. And at the same time in my own personal environment, how craft businesses were still typing quotes into Excel in the evening. That gap wouldn’t let me go: The technology had been around for a long time, it just wasn’t reaching the place where it would have the greatest impact. At some point, I no longer wanted to wait for someone else to do it.
Bootstrapping as a Feat of Strength
Munich Startup: Was there ever a moment when you thought about giving up?
Gaitis Kasims: Not giving up, no. But there are phases where you have to do the honest math: Krafthub is entirely self-funded. Everything the consulting business earns goes straight into development. That means months of hard work without a salary and without a safety net. In moments like that, it helps to look at the businesses that are already using the product. When one of them says they wouldn’t want to part with it, that answers the question.
Munich Startup: How will you know in a year’s time that you’re on the right track?
Gaitis Kasims: By three things. First: the AI isn’t just working within Krafthub, but across our customers’ entire system landscape — ERP, materials management, wholesale. Nobody has to maintain the same data in two places anymore. Second: the initial industrial clients turn into rollouts across entire corporate groups rather than individual pilot projects. And third, quite simply: significantly more paying businesses than today, and businesses switching to us from their previous software. That’s the most honest feedback there is.

Munich Startup: Would you found in Munich again and why?
Gaitis Kasims: Yes. Munich is one of Europe’s strongest AI hubs and, at the same time, right in the heart of the German skilled crafts sector. It is precisely this overlap that is our business, and it is rare.
We ourselves are not based in the city, but in Grafing. A small town, but with an astonishingly vibrant startup scene around ZamStarten. Short distances, plenty of substance, little noise. You can also see both worlds coming together in formats such as “Startup trifft Handwerk”. You can hardly find this density anywhere else.
Munich Startup: Focus or diversification?
Gaitis Kasims: Both, but on two different axes. Our focus is on the process: We use AI to industrialize a company’s entire workflow, from inquiry to invoice. Not a tool for a single step, but the entire chain. That’s where we go into depth and make no compromises.
Where we are diversified is in company size: The same AI runs for a one-person business as it does for a corporate group with multiple locations. That only works because the foundation is the same; otherwise, it would be two products and ultimately two companies.
