The Department for Climate and Environmental Protection is again recognizing the most effective and innovative projects in environmental protection this year. The Munich Environmental Prize seeks already realized projects and initiatives that are committed to protecting the environment. Whether through the protection of wildlife and plants, the restoration of ecosystems, waste prevention and reduction, water protection and management, or other environmental measures.
All environmental activists can apply, whether as individuals, with a company, a research institution, or a non-profit project. Particularly welcome are initiatives that convince with their originality and sustainability.
Participants must meet the following requirements:
- Reference to Munich
- Benefit to the environment
- Innovation
- Exemplary character
- Effectiveness
- The project was completed between 2019 and the date of application submission
A jury awards the prize, which is endowed with a total of 10,000 euros. The application deadline for the Munich Environmental Prize 2023 is July 7, 2023. The winners will receive their award at a ceremonial awards ceremony in autumn 2023.
