The Nui Care app was developed together with family caregivers to address the challenges of everyday care. Accordingly, it provides information on home care, answers questions, and helps organize care routines. For example, it assists with applying for benefits, creating care plans, and learning care techniques. This offering is also supported by a team of care experts who provide personal consultations. The startup, founded in 2019, cooperates with health insurance companies such as AOK Bayern, DAK-Gesundheit, and Allianz Private Krankenversicherung. Nui Care’s partners include care providers such as Landhausküche by Apetito, Ihreapotheken.de, and Pflegewächter.

This makes the offering from the Munich startup interesting for ADAC as well. According to an internal survey by the automobile club, approximately three million ADAC members are already involved in caring for relatives. They now receive free access to the “Nui Care: Family Caregivers” app. After a six-month pilot phase, it will be decided whether the offer will continue. The solution is also a result of an investment that ADAC made in the Munich startup in early 2023.

ADAC donates for each download of the Nui Care app

At the launch of this ADAC care assistant, ADAC SE donates €1.00 to the ADAC Foundation for its individual case assistance for each download of the Nui Care app with valid ADAC registration, and an additional €1.00 to the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf for research into the burden on family caregivers. This support program is active until September 30, 2024, with a total donation target of €20,000.

Markus C. Müller, CEO of Nui Care, emphasizes:

“Those who care for relatives have to organize and coordinate a lot. Bureaucratic hurdles and a lack of consulting services make this task difficult. Together with ADAC SE, we want to change this and provide comprehensive support to family caregivers in their daily care routines – digitally through the Nui Care app, through the ADAC care assistant, but also personally through Nui experts. Because caring for relatives is always an emotional matter that should be characterized above all by human care, empathy, and closeness.”

Sascha Coccorullo, Head of Strategy, New Business & Research at ADAC, says:

“A care situation in the family can happen to anyone. With the ADAC care assistant, we stand by our members in this situation as well and offer them comprehensive support in home care. Together with our partner Nui Care, we are taking another step toward our stated goal: a future in which people in need of care can live at a dignified level even in old age, and in which relatives can ensure loving and high-quality care alongside work, family, and hobbies.”
