As Gründerszene reports, Mey Capital Matrix is leading the financing round for Pumpkin Organics. In addition, Feast Ventures and business angels such as entrepreneur Tijen Onaran, influencer Charlotte Weise, and actress Wolke Hegenbarth have invested money in the startup.
Pumpkin Organics wants to boost marketing
Raising funds proved anything but easy, according to founder Jaclyn Schnau in an interview with Gründerszene.
“For many, we’re not sexy enough”,
says Schnau.
“We’re not a meat alternative, we don’t make oat milk or supplements. And we want nothing less than to completely revolutionize children’s nutrition. Our mission is to combat diseases of civilization such as obesity and diabetes.”
The goal is to teach children that sweetness isn’t the only thing that tastes good, according to the founder. Therefore, the objective is not the fastest growth, but education and persuasion: “We want to change the entire food industry.” This concerns investors.
With the fresh capital, the two founders Jaclyn Schnau and her husband Florian Schnau want to strengthen marketing activities. The startup plans to collaborate particularly with influencers and strengthen promotion in retail stores.
Pumpkin Organics’ products have made it into the assortment of Spar, DM, Alnatura, Basic, and Rossmann, among others. The Munich-based company is also listed at Austrian chains Billa and Bipa.
