Roadsurfer has secured €30 million in a current funding round. Avellinia Capital (AvCap) is participating as an investor in the Munich-based company. According to the company, the funding from the London-based investment firm covers all fleet investments planned for 2025 by the camper startup and thus secures further expansion of the fleet in existing markets in Europe and North America. With this investment, the Munich-based company plans to expand its fleet from 8,500 to around 10,000 vehicles without using additional growth capital.

“Unique positioning in the travel market”

Markus Dickhardt, co-founder and CEO of Roadsurfer, explains:

“The support and trust of a renowned investor like AvCap demonstrate our strong access to capital markets and underscore the strength of our business model. We are very pleased with the completion of the financing, which allows us to optimize our offerings for our customers and continue to focus on expanding our brand.”

And Julian Schickel, Managing Partner at Avellinia Capital, adds:

“We are pleased to accompany Roadsurfer in this important growth phase. This transaction underscores AvCap’s expertise in delivering tailored financing solutions for innovative companies with strong, asset-based growth potential. Roadsurfer’s commitment to sustainability and its unique positioning in the travel market make the company an ideal partner for us.”

Avellinia Capital is a private debt investment manager focused on asset-based specialty financing. The financing solution underscores AvCap’s expertise in asset-based lending and structuring innovative capital solutions for high-growth companies. By providing hybrid financing, AvCap unlocks additional liquidity for Roadsurfer and enables the Munich-based company to both expand its business operations and optimize its capital structure.

70 locations in 14 countries

Founded in 2016, Roadsurfer is now present at over 70 locations in 14 countries in Europe with its core business of renting and selling campervans, according to the company. In 2022, the Munich startup also expanded into the USA. With ‘Roadsurfer Spots’, Roadsurfer also aims to develop into a digital lifestyle travel brand in the globally growing outdoor travel market.
