The Science4Life business plan competition promotes young founder teams and technology-oriented startups in the life sciences, chemistry, and energy sectors. Aspiring entrepreneurs can develop their ideas, business models, and business plans with the support of Science4Life experts to later convince potential customers, investors, or cooperation partners.
The nationwide competition is divided into three phases: the idea phase, the concept phase, and the business plan phase. In the idea phase, startups describe their technology, present their business idea, and assess its market feasibility. In the second phase of the competition, the concept phase, the business idea is formulated conceptually. In the third phase, the business plan phase, the focus is on starting one’s own business. Participation in all three phases, including all offered services, is free of charge and takes place completely independently of one another. Prospective founders and startups can enter at any phase.
With the three-stage competition, Science4Life aims to depict the various phases of company formation, which begins with the development of a product, service, or digital business idea and extends through the development of a business model to the founding itself.
Application deadline April 21
Until April 21, 2023, teams can currently submit their applications for the third stage of the competition. The submitted entries are reviewed by industry experts. Each team receives detailed feedback to finalize the business plan for investment. Additionally, participants have the chance to win prize money of up to €25,000 and access to the expert network and Science4Life Academy.
A company does not need to be founded to participate. Companies that have already been founded must not be older than twelve months at the start of the respective competition.
Successful teams from Munich
Winners at Science4Life regularly include startups from Munich. For example, Deoxy, Dermagnostix, and Pionierkraft were able to win the concept phase of the 2020 competition, among others. Dermagnostix had previously also been successful in the idea phase. Munich-based young companies such as Kumovis, Inveox, or ScintHealth have also already been recognized by Science4Life.
