Pigtie is developing a comprehensive financial platform designed to empower its users to invest. Founded by Maximilian Klinke and Christian Maksymiw, the company aims to appeal primarily to students and early-career professionals aged 18 to 32. To date, Pigtie has been financed through funding programs and initial revenue, and a pre-seed round now brings a six-figure sum into the young company’s coffers. The new capital will primarily be used to further develop the app and support the Munich startup’s vision: to become a lifelong companion for users’ personal finances. Additionally, the investment will be used to expand the Pigtie community.
Discovering capital markets playfully
“We have proven that we can empower our users to engage with their personal finances in a modern way, to look beyond the narrow confines of outdated financial products, and to discover capital markets playfully for themselves. With the successful funding round, we have demonstrated that our vision convinces not only several thousand users but also renowned investors. With the capital we have now raised, we will implement a complete redesign of the app, develop additional features and offerings within our app, and expand our community”,
says CEO and co-founder Maximilian Klinke regarding the current funding round.
Micro-investing through a round-up service
Pigtie offers, among other things, a free round-up service in its app. This is a micro-investing tool designed to introduce users to the world of capital markets through regular investments of cent amounts. With cashless payments, digital transactions are rounded up to the nearest euro, and these round-ups are subsequently invested in ETFs. ‘Pigtie Lessons’, a knowledge platform integrated into the app, additionally provides users with information about the financial world.
Currently, users can integrate existing bank accounts into the app and open a new investment account or connect with an existing one. In the future, Pigtie aims to enable a comprehensive financial overview in the app.
