Trail offers a developer-friendly solution through its platform for scalable and trustworthy AI development. It aggregates, analyzes, and structures AI project data to make it accessible to interdisciplinary stakeholders. This enables companies developing or implementing AI solutions to automate governance workflows, technical documentation, and transparency. Ultimately, it helps them prepare for the EU AI Act and certifications like ISO 42001. To this end, Trail provides a free self-assessment tool on its website that determines the risk class and obligations of the EU AI Act for each AI use case.
Trail has now successfully completed its pre-seed round, securing €1.45 million. The round is led by early-stage investor CapitalT, with participation from NP-Hard Ventures, Mozilla Ventures, Common Magic, and various business angels. The fresh capital will help accelerate Trail’s product development, expand its team, and strengthen the Munich startup’s market position as a leading AI governance solution in Europe.
