The problem: Thousands of independent boutique hotels worldwide are doing extraordinary regenerative work: they restore ecosystems, anchor local communities, preserve cultural continuity. Yet they remain invisible to travelers and are not verifiable on OTA platforms because no accessible, credible standard exists for them. Existing certification systems are too expensive, too bureaucratic, or simply not designed for what regeneration really means.
Veriva solves this with three interconnected products: an independent editorial magazine that tells honest stories about these places; a Compass rating standard developed with Prof. Willy Legrand and based on the Regenerative Hospitality Canvas from EHL Lausanne; and a JSON-LD data profile for each rated property, compatible with the Travalyst Data Hub and designed to make verified regenerative properties visible on Booking.com, Expedia, and Airbnb.
