We offer with MASTLI – Magical Story Listening – a digital travel companion for individual audio experience tours that combines the flexibility of city guide apps with personal relevance and the diversity of classic city tours. Selected data and facts are packaged into compelling stories and told from the perspective of fictional characters with an entertaining background. This results in increased learning effects. The innovative app enables control via GPS data matching and voice interaction. Distraction from display interaction with the smartphone is prevented and user concentration is increased. In addition, customers benefit from high flexibility and affordable pricing. Digital experiences can be purchased and conducted by private customers (B2C) via a mobile app. We create the individual experiences in collaboration with local tour guides and give them a share of the revenues. We can generate additional revenue through the B2B channel by selling experiences or our infrastructure for playing experiences to commercial partners. Market analysis shows very high potential for our business idea due to the steeply rising digitalization trend combined with the lucrative tourism market. In this context, the Corona pandemic represents both a risk and a major opportunity: The collapse of the tourism market due to travel restrictions could potentially recover only slowly, while particularly individual and digital solutions, such as our app, can benefit greatly from the crisis. MASTLI is founded by us three STEM graduates Markus, Stephi, and Lisi. We are connected by a long-standing friendship and great love of travel. We complement each other perfectly through our individual interests and professional experience: While Stephanie Schiele is enthusiastic about new technologies and innovations and brings several years of professional experience in product development, Elisabeth “Lisi” Schmidt focuses on human factors engineering, including mechanisms and studies to promote attention and concentration. Markus Weis complements the technical and methodological expertise of the two founders with his affinity for numbers and takes care of the startup’s economic viability and sales issues.
