ARCIS builds an AI-powered decision layer for logistics and freight operations. Many logistics teams today still work with fragmented processes across TMS systems, Excel files, emails, PDFs, and the individual experience of dispatchers. ARCIS was founded by Onur Yılmaz and Birkan Kolcu, two computer engineers whose collaboration began 14 years ago as fellow students, roommates, and long-term technical partners. Onur combines computer science expertise, business-building experience, an MSc in Informatics from Technical University of Munich, experience at Intel, and strong connections to Munich’s startup ecosystem. Birkan brings technical depth from his computer science degree at the University of Arizona as well as practical experience in cloud engineering and scalable systems. The focus on logistics emerged from close relationships with logistics companies and operators in the team’s network. As these conversations increased, a recurring pattern became clear: high-quality operational decisions are still made manually across scattered systems and personal experience.
