Filu aims to become the leading provider for animal care in Germany. Founded in 2022, the three founders Anna Magdalena Naderer (CVO), Christian Köhler (CEO) and Justus Buchen (COO) already raised 5.1 million euros in a seed round in November 2023. Now the Munich-based veterinary startup is expanding to Cologne and opening its fifth veterinary practice there. The management of the Cologne veterinary practice will be taken over by TV veterinarian Dominique Tordy.
Tailored to the individual needs of pets
Together with her 10-member team, Tordy will now care for the health of Cologne’s pets at the new veterinary practice at Rudolfplatz in Cologne. The practice’s services are designed to go beyond the usual standard and include dental treatments, emergency surgeries, bone operations, complicated internal medicine cases and preventive examinations in its range of services.
Digital services are also being used, such as online appointment booking or a digital health record for pets. The latter is intended to ensure that the treating veterinarians are comprehensively informed about their animal patients and can tailor treatment methods individually to the needs of each pet.

Filu’s practices are based on the ‚De-Novo Urgent Care’ model and wants to set itself apart from M&A-driven players in the industry. The role model and pioneer is the American company Bond Vet with more than 40 practices in the USA. In addition to Munich and Cologne, Filu is already represented with its own practices in Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
