How can you make it easier for young people to come to Munich and start a company? This question drives Darius Göttert, also founder of InGemeinschaft and Spreadly. His solution: A place that offers everything startups need. The founder of the new startup incubator says:
“I came to Munich myself when I was 16 and didn’t know anyone out of 1.3 million people. I built my entire network from scratch and I know how tedious that is. I want to give other people the opportunity to not have to do this work for seven or eight years.”
The concept works like this: Six founders can move into Darius’s loft for a couple of weeks, pay a capped rent (maximum 1,300 euros per month) and get the all-inclusive package in return. Here they can quietly launch their startup, meet potential co-founders or employees, and get direct access to investors and other key players in the ecosystem.
“We also have a partner notary, partner accountant and partner lawyer that you can ask anytime if needed. And that way you can focus entirely on building your startup,”
Darius explains about his startup incubator.
Darius’s idea is supported by several partners, including Techniker health insurance and Munich Startup. For example, the kitchen in the loft becomes the “Munich Startup Kitchen”.
“I think it’s great how the city of Munich and Munich Startup in particular show that this topic is important to them and they invest a lot of energy and money in ideas like this. This way we can continue to bring together the Munich ecosystem.”
The native of Wittenberg is working on this at full speed. For six weeks, initially six founders from Germany will come to the loft for one week each. Starting in October or November, residents will stay longer to fulfill their dream of their own startup.
