Working Student Google Ads & AI (m/f/d) — Turning the Right to Repair into Real Repairs

The right to repair is written into law. Devices still end up in the trash anyway.

Europe has decided that repairing should become the norm. Only problem: a law doesn't repair a single device. A repair only happens when someone with a broken laptop in hand searches on Google — and finds us before ordering a new one.

Since February 2026, we have been operating our first RepairPoint in Munich-Schwabing: drop off the device at the shop, we fix it, you pick it up. The pilot is running, customers are coming, the tech is in place.

One problem remains: every customer we acquire via Google still costs us too much. This single number — Customer Acquisition Cost — decides whether one RepairPoint turns into a hundred.

That is exactly what we are looking for you to tackle.

Your mission

You will turn our Google Search campaigns into a channel that profitably delivers new repair customers. One KPI, no buzzword bingo: bring down CAC.

It's exclusively about search — Google Ads and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization: are we recommended by ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity when someone asks "Where can I get my PlayStation repaired in Munich?"). No Instagram, no TikTok, no brand building. Repair is a search problem: something breaks, the person searches immediately — and that exact moment is when we have to be there.

Phase 1 — Doing it yourself

  • Set up, monitor, and optimize Search and P-Max campaigns for our RepairPoints (Munich today, more locations soon)
  • Work closely with our dedicated Google Account Manager. He is your key sparring partner: regular campaign reviews, account structure, bidding strategy. You bring the business case and the ideas; he brings Google knowledge and insights from thousands of accounts. You rarely get this direct line at an agency.
  • Keywords, search term reports, negative lists, ad copy, bidding strategies — the day-to-day craft that no one here currently has time for
  • Feed offline conversions back cleanly: a click only counts for us once a device actually arrives in the shop. This makes the case technically more demanding than any standard e-commerce account
  • Test and sharpen landing pages so clicks actually turn into dropped-off devices
  • Build GEO for end consumers — a channel for which there is no textbook yet

Phase 2 — Building the agent that takes over

We don't believe in "pouring AI over everything and hoping for the best." An AI agent is like a new employee: it's only as good as the process and knowledge you feed it. That's why these are two distinct phases — you first need to know yourself which decision you make based on which signal. What you can't explain, no agent can take over.

Once that is established:

  • Together with Martin (Managing Director, strongly AI-driven), you translate your optimization logic into an agent that continuously manages the campaigns autonomously
  • You define the guardrails: what can the agent decide on its own, and where does a human need to review?
  • The goal: across 100 RepairPoints, 100 Search campaigns optimize themselves automatically — and you built it and lead it

What you bring to the table

  • You have already worked with Google Ads. University project, your own online shop, side gig, internship — it doesn't matter. You don't need to be a pro, but we don't want to have to explain what an ad group, a search term report, or a conversion tag is. You should have at least seen GA4 and Google Tag Manager before.
  • You are a self-taught learner. Honestly: we don't have a marketing department to onboard you — that's precisely why we're hiring. Your mentors are the Google Account Manager, the account data, and your own curiosity. We provide context, access, and backing. You drive your own learning curve. If that excites you rather than scares you, you're a great fit.
  • You think in numbers. A dashboard with CAC and conversion rates sounds exciting to you rather than exhausting.
  • You want to grow. If you take it seriously, this role will teach you more in six months than two semesters of marketing lectures.
  • Business fluent German — our market is Germany, our ads and landing pages are in German
  • You are enrolled as a student (prerequisite for a working student contract); your field of study doesn't matter to us

A plus, not a must: you have looked into GEO or AI search before. Or you don't just use ChatGPT/Claude for rephrasing, but actually build things with them.

What we offer you

  • Real budget, real responsibility. Access to our Ads account, real money. No busywork, no intern-level desk research.
  • A Google Account Manager as a sparring partner. Others learn Google Ads from YouTube videos. You develop strategy together with our dedicated contact at Google.
  • An AI project that isn't a buzzword. You build Phase 2 directly with executive leadership.
  • Bachelor's or Master's thesis possible. Offline conversion attribution in brick-and-mortar retail, GEO as an emerging channel, agent-based campaign management — pick a topic, we'll provide data and company-side supervision.
  • 18–22 €/hour, depending on prior experience.
  • 10–20 hrs/week. During the first one to two months, we'll need you closer to the upper end — onboarding and campaign setup can't be stretched across eight hours. Afterwards, you can scale down: fewer hours during exam periods, more during semester breaks if you like. Long-term collaboration is more important to us than high weekly hours.
  • Remote-first. Initially, we'll meet more often in Pfaffenhofen so you truly understand the repair operations and RepairPoint. After that, you largely decide for yourself where you work from.
  • Short communication channels. 17 people, two Managing Directors, no department whose approval you need first. What you decide on Monday goes live on Tuesday.

About KAVITS

We are the invisible repair partner behind Germany's electronics retail chains. When someone brings their device for repair to Expert, Euronics, or Media Markt, it often ends up with us in Pfaffenhofen: over 150,000 repairs, with an average turnaround time of 3.3 business days.

With RepairPoint, we are facing the end consumer directly for the first time. Our goal is one million repairs a year. Every single one is a device saved from the trash.

How to apply

No cover letter needed. Send us your CV and answer three questions in a few sentences each:

  1. Someone in Munich breaks their laptop — or PlayStation. What do they type into Google, and what would our ad need to say so they click instead of ordering a new device?
  2. Where have you worked with Google Ads or Google Search before? Briefly tell us about the account, campaign, or project — even if it was small or went sideways.
  3. What would you look at first if you were given access to our Google Ads account tomorrow?

We read every application ourselves and will get back to you within a week.
