Munich startup IDnow has been developing AI-powered identity verification technologies since its founding in 2014. Its solutions meet the high security standards of global companies in sectors such as financial services, telecommunications, and mobility.
As early as 2019, Corsair invested in IDnow – at that time in the form of a minority stake. Since then, the company has expanded its portfolio and completed two strategic acquisitions. Through this, the startup expanded into new regions and also took a leading position in France. The current majority acquisition is intended to further accelerate growth.
Andreas Bodczek, CEO of IDnow, comments:
“Since our founding over a decade ago, IDnow has developed into a market leader in identity verification in Germany and France. We have achieved considerable success in our results and expansion of our customer base. With today’s announcement, we are positioning ourselves for future success. Corsair’s continued investment underscores confidence in our vision and speaks to the synergies we have created in our collaboration. By deepening our partnership, we ensure that our platform continues to evolve in line with market developments.”
“IDnow has developed strong momentum”
Corsair’s investors also see great opportunities in deepening the collaboration:
“Since our initial investment, we have witnessed IDnow develop strong momentum and achieve impressive scale. We are excited to deepen our partnership with the strong management team. At the same time, we look forward to supporting IDnow on a new chapter in terms of innovation and growth”,
explain Raja Hadji-Touma and Edward Wertheim, partners at Corsair.
Felix Haas, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of IDnow, emphasizes:
“Building IDnow with Armin Berghaus, Dennis von Ferenczy, and Sebastian Bärhold has been an incredible journey. Corsair’s investment opens the opportunity to consolidate our expertise and capitalize on the significant market opportunities. Corsair’s resources and know-how will help accelerate growth and unlock new opportunities for the company. I am confident that this partnership will drive progress and expansion from which IDnow, its customers, and the entire industry will benefit.”
With the majority stake in IDnow, Corsair strengthens its position in the industry and underscores its long-term strategy of supporting leading technology companies. The company plans to continue expanding its offering and grow its presence in Europe.
