Since then, there have been many initiatives, but the change is most evident in the distinction between the time before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. On the one hand, the COVID-19 pandemic has further widened the care gap between high and low-income countries, caused by disruptions in (pharmaceutical) supply chains or lack of access to comprehensive hygiene and safety measures. On the other hand, lockdowns highlighted the benefits of digital care alternatives and technologies and accelerated their adoption. (Photo: Excellentcc / Pixabay)
