Wirelane, a Munich-based provider of charging infrastructure solutions, is once again expanding its Series B funding round from summer 2021 and raising 11 million euros from existing and new investors. The investor circle includes, among others, CD-Venture, the investment company of Dirk Wilken and Christoph Boehringer. The Munich-based company plans to use the fresh capital, among other things, to further develop its charging infrastructure. Wirelane CEO Constantin Schwaab has the goal clearly in sight:
“With the Series B expansion, we can continue our growth trajectory to become one of the leading providers of charging infrastructure solutions in Germany.”
Wirelane acquires On Charge
In addition to the Series B expansion, the Munich startup also announces the acquisition of On Charge. The Munich-based company builds charging stations across Germany, primarily in urban residential areas. According to its own information, On Charge will have around 3,000 charging points in more than 450 municipalities by the end of 2023. Schwaab comments on the acquisition:
“With the 100 percent acquisition of On Charge GmbH, we are further expanding our charging offerings and creating charging infrastructure where people live.”
On Charge is now operating as Wirelane Public Charging Germany.
Provider of charging infrastructure solutions
Founded in 2016, the Munich-based startup Wirelane offers charging infrastructure solutions for public and semi-public electric vehicle charging. The company’s portfolio includes its own charging point solutions as well as an e-mobility platform for their operation and management. Wirelane also supports its customers in planning, implementing, and operating the infrastructure.
The Munich-based company already secured 18 million euros in growth capital in its Series B in summer 2021. In December of the same year, Momeni Digital Ventures joined the investor circle and brought an additional mid-seven-figure amount to the round. In total, Wirelane has so far secured funding of 36 million euros.
