Acquisitions, partnerships and other success stories in the newsflash
There was only one acquisition to report in August (from minute 8:45): The Munich SaaS provider Shore was acquired by Swedish website service provider Group.one. Founded in 2012, the company offers digitalization solutions such as online appointment booking and mobile point-of-sale systems for service providers, craft businesses and other mid-sized companies. Through the acquisition of the Munich-based company, this product range should expand Group.one’s portfolio.
August also brought news in the area of partnerships (from minute 9:15): Rebike found a new partner in Businessbike, for which the Munich-based company will now refurbish e-bikes from its company bike program. Flix will work with Europe’s Famous Hostels in the future, which means that travelers can receive up to 20 percent discount on their stay at one of the award-winning hostels if they arrive by Flixbus. And the AppliedAI Initiative was even able to win two new partners: MCML, the Munich Center for Machine Learning, and SAP.
To conclude our newsflash (from minute 11:05), we briefly discuss UVC Partners. The venture capital firm behind the UnternehmerTUM innovation center closed its fourth fund in August and raised 250 million euros. The closing came together faster than ever before, taking only six months for UVC Partners to raise the money. This increases the firm’s assets under management to over 600 million euros.
