GSG was founded in 2012 as Cupo Nation and initially focused on the voucher business. As Global Savings Group, the company entered the cashback space from 2016 onwards through the acquisitions of iGraal and Shoop. Through the merger with Pepper, the world’s largest shopping community came together with Europe’s leading shopping recommendation and rewards company. The new Atolls brand is intended to reflect the company’s development over the past years.

Today, the company operates a variety of shopping destinations, including voucher and cashback platforms such as Coupons.com, iGraal and Shoop, as well as popular shopping communities including hotukdeals, mydealz and Dealabs. These platforms are designed to support consumers throughout their entire shopping journey.

Why Atolls?

“Atolls stands for more than just savings and offers – we focus on creating digital destinations that are perfectly positioned along a consumer’s journey. Just as travelers once relied on atolls in the ocean as crucial stopovers, our platforms are there when consumers need them most, helping them get to purchase from anywhere,”

explains Gerhard Trautmann, CEO of Atolls, and adds:

“Moreover, just like atolls in the ocean that appear scattered but are connected by underwater reefs, our technology, teams and culture are also interlinked. Each Atolls brand is a desirable digital destination in its own right, but by building them on a common foundation, we can move faster while continuing to pursue our mission of creating leading shopping experiences for consumers.”

A look to the future

The rebrand marks the beginning of a new era for the company. The core mission remains unchanged, but CEO Trautmann sees many opportunities for further development.

“The Atolls shopping destinations are already popular with hundreds of millions of people, but we still see enormous growth potential. Behind the scenes, there are many exciting developments happening with our existing products, particularly in the area of personalization. These developments will enable us to provide our users with even more exciting experiences, which in turn benefits the brands and retailers we work with.”

Additionally, there are several international markets where Atolls is already present but still has room for further growth.
