The Munich Startup Award will be presented on July 17, 2024 at the 2nd Munich Startup Festival at Backstage München. Selected startups will compete against each other on the festival stage in two semifinals of the pitch competition, and the audience will decide who advances to the final. There, a high-caliber jury will determine the winning team of the Munich Startup Award. The winners receive €10,000 in prize money and are entitled to call themselves “Munich’s Startup of the Year.”

To be eligible to apply, startups must be based in the greater Munich area, specifically in the city or district of Munich or in one of the districts of Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Freising, Fürstenfeldbruck, Landsberg am Lech, or Starnberg. As of the deadline of July 17, 2024, participating companies must not be older than five years. The products or services developed by the startup must pursue an innovative and scalable approach. Additionally, a functional or demonstrable prototype of the product or service must already exist. All startups that wish to apply must be listed in our startup listing (register here). Applications are possible until June 2, 2024.
In the selection for the semifinals, the degree of innovation, business idea, feasibility, market potential, competitive advantage, team, scalability, customer loyalty, and social impact will be evaluated.
With a win at the Munich Startup Award 2024, a young company will follow in the footsteps of previous winners Cleverciti, Catchys, Inveox, Hawa Dawa, Pylot, Pixel Robotics, and Deepdrive. In previous years, the award was presented as part of the Munich Startup Conference Bits & Pretzels. Since 2023, the award ceremony has taken place at the Munich Startup Festival.
