#Munich Startup Recap#Weekly Wrap-up
Munich Startup 2.0: From Showcase to Orientation Platform: You’ve certainly already noticed our new look at Munich Startup. However, the relaunch is more than just a new design: With Munich Startup 2.0, the platform is evolving from a classic news portal into a personalized entry point for the Munich startup ecosystem. The new platform was presented during the Munich Startup Festival. (Photo: Joscha Queisser for Munich Startup)
5U AI - Team
5U AI Receives 2.7 Million Euros in Pre-Seed Funding for AI Platform: Munich-based startup 5U AI has raised over 2.7 million euros ($3.2 million) in a pre-seed funding round. The capital will finance the scaling of an AI platform whose digital workers handle operational tasks in European freight forwarding companies while simultaneously documenting decision-making knowledge. Semir Babajic, CEO of Treesense, guest on PITCH & PEOPLE
Treesense: The Munich startup that lets trees speak: Trees can’t tell us when they’re thirsty. The Munich startup Treesense wants to change that. With sensors directly in the tree, the team makes water stress measurable – helping cities water their trees in a more targeted way. This saves water, labor, and, at best, thousands of trees. Celsio team
Munich climatetech startup Celsio receives 1.2 million euros: Celsio has raised 1.2 million euros in pre-seed funding. The Munich-based climatetech startup intends to use the capital to transition pilot plants into commercial operation, expand its own trading capacities, and build out partnerships and its team. Helsing tops Germany’s unicorn ranking for the first time: With Helsing, a defencetech company tops the list of Germany’s most valuable startups for the first time. In the Hurun Germany Unicorn Index 2026, the Munich-based company achieved a valuation of 16.6 billion euros – just five years after its founding. In total, Germany now has 38 unicorns with a combined company value of 118.9 billion euros. (Photo: Hurun Report)
Knowmanity
Knowmanity: Keeping knowledge in the company: A large part of knowledge in companies is not found in any handbook, but resides in the heads of employees. Founded in 2025 by Maximilian Resch and Marcus Maier, the startup Knowmanity is developing a platform that preserves this experiential knowledge before it gets lost. In the interview, co-founder Maximilian Resch shares how a spontaneous idea turned into a company. (Photo: Knowmanity UG)
