Flixbus founders are Germany's most active business angels

The online service Addedval.io has compiled a list of Germany's most active angel investors. At the top of the list are Flixbus founders Jochen Engert, Daniel Krauss, and André Schwämmlein. We've compiled some of their Munich investments.

With 37 investments, the Flixbus founders lead the Ranking of the 150 most active business angels in Germany by a wide margin. Second place, which is only listed anonymously, follows with 27 investments.

According to the authors of the ranking, there are around 10,000 business angels active in Germany. Based on an analysis of the commercial register between July 2019 and July 2022, the portal identified the 150 angels who invested in at least seven German startups during this period.

The Flixbus founders have invested in these startups

Through their joint investment company SEK Ventures, Flixbus founders Jochen Engert, Daniel Krauss and André Schwämmlein have invested in a whole series of Munich-based startups from various industries:

Recently, SEK Ventures has participated in a 4 million round at Awake Mobility The Munich-based company has developed a hardware and software solution that uses real-time vehicle data acquisition to detect the condition of buses. This is intended to improve the reliability, punctuality, and environmental friendliness of buses.

The Edtech startup Simpleclub In July, with the help of the Flixbus founders, among others, Series A financing round of 7.2 million euros Complete. Simpleclub's learning app offers learning videos, exercises, and summaries for fifth grade and above.

Last year, the Munich-based angel investors joined forces as part of a Seed round on the platform for the purchase and sale of commercial vehicles Truckoo involved.

SEK Ventures has been involved in the Wellster Healthtech Group, an operator of online medical portals. Later, high-profile investors such as Sevenventures followed.
