The story of Mojitofilms almost came to an end in 2025. Then it turned out that of all things, a single feature in the film app held the greatest potential: the AI concierge Moji. Founder Shahram Shahangi combines computer science, digital marketing, and his passion for film. Today, he aims to use Moji to help cinemas and festivals better reach their audiences, discover fitting movies through dialogue, and shorten the path to purchasing tickets. (Photo: Mojitofilms GmbH)
CNC, laser, and CAD have long been part of everyday life in many craft and trade businesses – yet back in the office, Excel, paper, and scattered data still slow things down. Krafthub aims to bridge this gap with an AI platform that maps the entire process from inquiry to invoice. Founder Gaitis Kasims knows both sides: he comes from a family of craftspeople while also drawing on 20 years of experience as a founder, CIO, and CTO. In 2025, he founded Krafthub to bring industrial AI automation to the skilled trades. (Photo: Krafthub GmbH)
A missing tennis partner while on vacation gave Volker Jahns the idea for his next venture. The longtime software entrepreneur, with degrees in computer science and business administration, founded Clubgefühle in 2026. The platform combines group travel with a community and an AI-powered travel search. This way, travelers don’t have to wait until they arrive at their destination to find out who they’re traveling with; instead, they can get to know their fellow travelers before departure and stay in touch afterward. Risk assessments are mandatory for employers, yet implementation fails in many companies due to the effort involved. Velth bundles occupational health and safety documentation in one place and generates structured drafts for risk assessments and other required documents. The startup is backed by five founders who met in the Munich university ecosystem, among other places. Co-founder Frederik Tress brings AI experience from BMW Group IT and studies computer science at LMU München. In an interview, he explains why Velth is deliberately being developed for SMEs and why technical quality takes priority over speed when it comes to AI in occupational safety. (Photo: Velth)
“Die Höhle der Löwen” is always good for a surprise, as a recent episode of the long-running VOX show proved once again. New jury member Johannes Kliesch made Munich-based Ivyclip founder Leonie Neisinger an unprecedented offer: 150,000 euros in capital with no equity taken, in exchange for a repayment of the investment amounting to 300,000 euros. But who is this startup? We introduce them in an interview. (Photo: Ivyclip)
The more satellites orbit the Earth, the more crucial orbital safety becomes. Munich-based startup Project-S is developing space-based radar systems that better detect even smaller pieces of debris to help prevent collisions. Founder and CEO Leonidas Askianakis explains in this interview how the technology works, the role Munich plays as a space hub, and what the startup’s next steps are. (Photo: Project-S)
Staff shortages, cost pressures, and an abundance of repetitive tasks: hospitals offer huge potential for automation. Munich-based startup Elvio Robotics doesn’t just want to bring another robot to market. Instead, founders Marco Brizzolara and Johannes Drexler combine robotics, software, infrastructure, and processes into an integrated system. In an interview, they explain why reliability is particularly crucial in hospitals and why Munich was the right place for them to start their company. (Photo: Elvio Robotics)
